Thank you for the nice words! :)
The error happens because the file “searchform.php” doesn’t exists in the BlueBubble theme folder. This was my bad. I fixed it now. Please download the theme again and overwrite it on your server. Additionally I think you have wrong permissions for your directories. Please make sure to set it to 777 in BlueBubble -> Scripts -> Cache.
Are you sure you set the portfolio category to each post right? normally something should show up.

I’m trying your theme on my site.
But I found a problem and can not solve. See what I did:
1-How can I not use the email form, removed the files and form.php js.js theme.
2-I translated the theme to my language Portuguese-Brazil.
3-Images of the Portfolio only appear on the home remains the permissions to 755. If I switch to 777, will not be displayed.
4-Those images will not appear at all, but I saw that they are there in the cache.
Any idea what can be?
everything is working fine on your site. open the file “single_portfolio.php” and remove style=”display:none;” on the image tag on line 45. jquery made this visible but you have removed this ;-)

i think you have changed- or added the css class “.portfolio”. there’s a width: 200px. just delete this. please also take out the margins, paddings and borders.

This theme is perfect! Very close to what I’ve had in mind. And I have been having loads of trouble modifying an existing theme to something like this. So thank you!
A few questions:
1. I notice the comments aren’t threaded. Any plans on adding that feature since you mention that this theme is wp 2.8.6 compatible?
2. Is there a way to make the blog section the main page when a reader lands on my blog instead of the portfolio? (I love the portfolio section, just that having the blog as the main thing makes more sense to my usage for now)

2. This is a great idea! Unfortunately this is not possible at the moment.

Great work Thomas, love everything about it. I am having a little problem with images, basically I have only 1 image showing both on the homepage and the relevant posts, other either show on the homepage only and never load on the posts. I am not sure what I am doing wrong, any thoughts?

A quick question, but you might have almost answered it after Joshua’s request.
If you check the new site I’m working on (http://www.cybear.eu) I’d like to have the “Accueil” page be the home page, then a Portfolio page, then a blog page.
If I switch these options on through admin/settings/reading/ and request to start on a static page, it’s OK, except that the portfolio appears on the “blog” page, and there’s no more a page for the blog posts.
Oh BTW, it would be nice to have the …content… in a sub-template to avoid to change it multiple times… when needed… ;-)

Unfortunately it is not possible at the moment to set a static page to the home page. This is absolutely normal what happens as you described it above when you change the settings. i’ll add this in my next version.
but you can do it by yourself: you can dublicate the index.php (portfolio) and safe it as a template. name it portfolio or something like that. after that, create a new site named portfolio and choose the template you’ve done. and of course these changes at the admin section you’ve already done. this should work i think…. good luck! :)

i checked your site and it seems you’ve got the wrong permissions on the wp-content/upload folder and it’s subfolders. make sure to set ch-mod to 777. i also recognized that you’ve got a free-hosting service.. maybe there are old PHP settings or something… i would try to ask your hoster if the things with the permissions doesn’t work.

ok, hmm. i’m not sure what the problem is. do you have also ch-mod 777 on the cache folder in BlueBubble/scripts/cache ?
when you take a look at the sourcecode of the generated image and open the link in a new window you’ll get an error message. i’m not a php-crack.. so all i can say is that mostly something with the permissions are wrong wheen timthumb.php is not working…
BlueBubble/scripts/cache ch-mod also 777.
I’ll try to fix the problem with my php programmer friends, if it will be ok, i’ll write down here.

Die folgenden Themes sind installiert, aber nicht vollständig. Themes müssen ein Stylesheet und ein Template haben.

Beschreibung: Es fehlt ein Stylesheet.
Hat diese Fehlermeldung schon einmal jemand anderes gehabt? Wie kann ich den Fehler beheben? Es scheint, als wäre beim d/l das entsprechende Stylesheet nicht mitgekommen :/

Hello Thomas. I’ve emailed you about front page image didn’t show. It seem like i filled image path with incomplete wp automatic generated image urls. I add /public_html/ and it works. Problem solved.
Unfortunately i’ve another question ;-).
Can i display images on original format & proportion on my posts so readers could see whole picture instead just a larger version on (cropped) front page thumbnail?

Dankeschön! hmm. bei meiner test installation, sowie online-version läuft alles ohne probleme. das stylesheet ist auch mit dabei beim download. ich kann dir leider nicht sagen was das problem bei dir ist. auf jeden fall wird bald eine neue version meines themes veröffentlicht, das wird dann auch sicher mit wp 2.9 laufen.

thank you! the only thing you have to do is to replace these e-mail settings in mail.php. if this is not working you have maybe wrong php settings on your webserver which will not allow you to send mails…

you have something like this on line 48 in index.php: &w=310&h=150&zc=1. zc=1 stands for cropping the image. you can try to change this value to 0. but i didn’t tested it. good luck.

Excellent wordpress theme! I seem to be having a problem displaying images though. I’ve checked and double checked that the necessary folders are set to ch-mod 777. But still my portfolio images wont display. Any thoughts?

äähm, you can only add one postimage which will be displayed at the portfolio section. but you can add as much images as you want to each post or portfolio item with the standard wordpress uploader. but if you need a gallery with slideshow and/or lightbox i can recommend the NextGEN Gallery plugin: http://alexrabe.de/wordpress-plugins/nextgen-gallery/

erst einmal vielen Dank für die Bereitstellung Deines schönen Themes. Und zu diesem habe ich auch gleich eine Frage.
Ich sitze schon eine geraume Zeit hier und bin nicht in der Lage, auf der Starseite nur vier aktuelle Portfolio Items einzustellen, genau wie auf deiner Demoseite. Sobald ich ein 5tes Item anlege, erscheint es auch und leider nicht die “older entrys” pagination. Im backend ist die Postanzeige auf “4″ eingestellt. Deine Anmerkung habe ich gesehen, hilft mir leider auch nicht weiter ;-)
Kannst Du mir bitte auf die Sprünge helfen?!

je später der Abend … manchmal hilft es ja, wenn man ein wenig kommuniziert. Die Lösung liegt natürlich in der portfolio.php, wo Du die Artikel auf 1000 eingestellt hast. Ich habe es einfach nicht gesehen, obwohl ich nun alles schon eingedeutscht habe.

das war es doch nicht. Ändere ich nun die Zahl in der portfolio.php, werden mir zwar die entsprechenden Beiträge angezeigt, aber die “ältere – neuere” Pagination funktioniert doch noch nicht.

Just wondering if I want my logo to be taller than the one on your example, how do I pad it so it pushes everything else (Nav etc.) down? Currently it overlays the nav and the text below it because it is too tall (logo is 919 X 214). I expect I will experience the same thing once I start adding image thumbs to the portfolio area on the right. Thanks again!

Ich habe es ausprobiert und alles funktionier super!
Mein einziges Problem ist, dass wenn ich viele Portfolio Beiträge habe und dann z.B. nach 6 Beiträgen eine 2 Seite möchte erscheinen unten die Links zur nächsten und vorherigen Seite. Aber wenn ich darauf klicke ändert sich nur die html Adresse, aber die Beiträge bleiben immer die von Seite 1.

Thomas, you can disregard my last comment, I pieced parts of the blog query_posts into the catergory and portfolio.php. Thanks for an amazing theme. you can delete the previous post.

Fantastic theme which is ideal for a personal project I am working on. I have the new version installed but cannot get the pagination working on the homepage, I have installed WP-Navi, and the button appears at the bottom of the homepage, but all of my posts still appear on one page. I would like to limit this to 8 or 10 posts per page, is this possible?

I’m hoping you can help me fix a problem I am having with the portfolio option? I’ve created a page called “Best of the Best.” I made sure to use the Portfolio Template for it. Then I created a new post with the portfolio image and image details. I selected the Portfolio Category and the Student Work Category but I’m having difficulty getting the portfolio images to show up on the Student Work Portfolio Page.

Hi Rob,
I have tried all sorts with regards to WP-Navi, and although it shows at the bottom of the page, when you click on Page 2, or Next, it just stays on the same page.
I have now tried page bar, but this does exactly the same. Is it an issue with the theme??
Will this work with wordpress 3.0? The reason I ask is because I have installed the theme and while uploading content I noticed I did not see the “Post Option” field in the create a post section. How do I load it or find it to activate it for my portfolio section posts?
hey great theme i’m using an older version one with the timthumb.php for the thumbnails and the filesize is huge the problem is when i install a newer version of timthumb with have the file size fix i cant see the thumbnails

Nice theme, although i’ve had trouble setting it up. I used your tutorial/guide but when I add a portfolio item I don’t see the ‘page options’ box as pictured in your guide?

I am not sure exactly what the problem is. Can you be more specific? Remember that you have to create a Wordpress category for the portfolio items AND set the category in the BlueBubble Admin panel. Also be sure that you are using Wordpress 3.0.

Hi Thomas. Great theme, it’s what I’ve been looking for a long time. I just have one problem. Even though I have more than my default of 10 posts, whenever I click on the “older entries” link on the bottom of the page, it still show the same 10 images that are already there. It won’t show the older entries. Can you please tell me how to fix this? I’ve looked on WP’s support forum but there’s so many different solutions that don’t work. Thanks
